Review:
"The GuttaGard, you gotta get it!"
I bought the 5k series gutter guard from GuttaGard. I don't know if this is a name brand gutter guard system but it works pretty good. I bought it online from a resaler about 2 years ago and so far it does the job. It doesn't work like normal systems out there that have a screen to keep things out. It has a lip at the end so water can get through, keeping things out. The leaves just fall off the side onto the ground. So far I just have to take a hose at the beginning of spring and end of fall and rinse out the gutters. Some junk does get through, but not enough to worry about. The only down side is if you don't hose out the gutters before winter, you will have lots of ice on the outside of the gutter. This is because the ice sits on top of the junk on the gutter, so it can't go anywhere. I fixed the problem by cleaning off the gutters before the first snow and attaching low voltage snow melting lines to the roof. The upside of doing this is that you melt the snow off. This keeps the stress on the overall roof low from snow buildup. If you were to ask me if I would buy them again. I would, buy the roof de-icer if you live in a colder area.
