"Used car salesman tactics"
I filled out an online form for an estimate, not realizing they were going to have someone call me immediately to schedule an in-person estimate. I was only casually looking at my options to get an idea of price and hadn't done a lot of research yet. The salesman who came to our home was very pushy and condescending, using outdated used car salesman tactics that I can only assume are off-putting to just about everyone. We have a very small home and the initial estimate was $5,500. When we said we'd have to think about it he starts writing down percents and acronyms and magically he can offer us almost 40% off, but it's still $3,400. We say we need to think about it because we are doing a lot of other renovations to our house and we need to prioritize and look at our options. He starts guilt tripping about his time and gas for coming out, despite the fact that this was advertised as a Free Estimate, not a must-buy-now sales pitch. He gave us a few minutes to think about it and during that time I fact-checked some of his claims about having zero BBB complaints which is an absolute lie (they have 1,037). They claim to have great customer service and be maintenance-free, but as you can see on all of the review sites, there are many testimonials to the contrary. I finally had to firmly tell him we were going to wait and consider our options. He then went completely silent and no longer responded to anything I said, ignoring me as I if I wasn't there as he packed up and walked off. They use that timeshare presentation tactic where they've decided only one person here can be rude and it's them, so they keep being pushy and condescending to try to make you want to appease them and sign the contract. Don't fall for it! I've now seen hundreds of reviews and videos talking about how terrible the product is as well, I'm glad I didn't waste thousands of dollars on it.

"Terrible experience"
I spoke with salesman "Mark" here in east TX to order the gutters. I spoke about eventually (Note I said eventually) using rain chains and rain barrels to add water conservation and appeal to the house. First of all my order says "we will install the Leaf Filter System on the home".... Would that not include down spouts? When they showed up to do the job they didn't put downspouts on... becasue they were informed that I would be putting up rain chains and rain barrels...Not good. I am very unhappy they showed up and did a half a job. leaving me with gaping holes in the gutters where the water rushes out like a water fall to the corners of my foundation... I thought rain chains would be effective. Turns out they aren't and this company should know (since this IS their business) and explain to the customer that rain chains are not very effective. Holes are too big for any rain chains I have bought. They should definitely know and advise that this system isnt so effective when using rain chains. but primarily they never put the downspouts on even though I did say I would need them until I had my rain chains and rain barrels. And I also stated that I would have to cut the downspout for the height of the rain barrel and would that affect the warranty. So I was expecting the 'whole' system to be installed regardless of my future plans.. NO..so now I have four big waterfalls at the corners of my home. I only had gutters on the front of my home originally and so I only have one old downspout, which thankfully I kept, so I am using my one old downspout at one corner of the hoime to disperse the water. Another thing is they take an hour to answer the phone when you are calling customer service....first I called my sales rep "Mark" to say that I didn't get the downspouts and he advised me to call customer service in TN. I called to tell them I needed the downspouts and they told me I would have to pay 500 dollars for 4.....shouldn't that be part of the pricing when you are quoted for a new leaf filter system....well according to them because I spoke of my plans to have rain chains and rain barrels, the sales man "Mark" (East TX area) gave the go ahead to not include sleeves or downspouts. terrible terrible experience getting the leaf gutter system for my home. I feel they did me wrong not giving me the whole system....like I said I now have water falls at the corners of my home. I paid to have the complete system. after arguing with the saleman "Mark" and a contractor on the phone the contractor had someone comeout with the sleeves for the holes which were supposed to narrow the hole....and he drilled two holes bigger in the front before I noticed what he was doing. not his fault, he was given the sleeves and was doing his job and told him I can't have bigger holes... so now the front has even bigger holes. He had a couple old sleeves from another job that would fit the holes in the back of the house without making them larger... so unhappy with the way this company did me... not right.. Because of my talking of putting up rain chains and rain barrels they only did half a job even though I paid full price..... I feel gipped totally, so please don't let on that you want to use rain barrels or rain chains becaues you won't get the "system", you will get gutters with the filters......only. I would not recommed doing business with this company... I still have to get downspouts for my rain barrel... Not knocking the gutters themselves, the service that was performed or lack therein really. I would not promote leaf filter, get them from another company.

"Leaking behind the gutter"
Leaf Guard installed gutters along my metal roof. Water now leaks between the gutter and the house. After weeks of trying to contact the service department they came out and said their gutters were installed correctly and it was the design of the roof that was the problem. I guess they want me to buy a new roof to match their gutters. Totally unresponsive company.

"Buyer Be Very Aware"
The sales representative initial price was $19,000! Outrageous. He took it down to $15,000+ and demanded I sign the deal "now" or the deal goes away forever. I haven't seen or heard of these high pressure tactics since the vacuum salesmen in the 1960's. Your arrogant and high pressure salesmen was promptly shown the exit. In addition, his appearance was gross, he wanted to come inside my house (btw, he was not wearing a mask and did not offer to do so) I wouldn't let him inside due to the heavy amount of dandruff all over his shoulders and back. The whole experience was one of the worst I've had in many years. And now your offer is half of his exit price. Your sales tactics and your representative have left a very strong distaste for your company, I would be hugely embarrassed by to be associated with Leaf Filter.

"Do Not Install Leaffilter on Metal Roof"
Do not use Leaf Filter for metal roofs. On 23rd of June 2020 I signed a contract with Cliff Washburn of Leaf Filter. He said they may have to trim the metal roof to ensure water capture. On 26th of June 2020 the installers put the gutters up and installed the filters. Over the weekend it rained and the water overshot the gutters. The gutters was installed 2-2.5" too low. On Monday 29th of June I texted Cliff Washburn and Cliff said please call the main office number on the contract and they would dispatch a technician to fix any issues. Thanks for reaching out. On 29th of June 2020 I texted Cliff two more time and called the office for him with no response. 6th of June 2020 I called office and texted for Cliff but with no response. Same day I called Leaf Filter Service Department and they said they would send someone out on 31 June 2020. It took 3 days to installed but 25 days to send someone out from the Service Department. The Service Department sent young kid out, Brian Hoerner and told me they wouldn't move the gutter up. I would not recommend Leaf Filter to anyone with a metal roof. They could have installed them 2" higher and they would capture the rain water but now the rain water over shots the gutter.

"Dishonest sales techniques"
I had their salesman come out to get a quote for Leaf Filter installation. After his sales pitch he gave me a quote of $5769. When I explained that I had two other installers coming out to give estimates, he reduced the cost to $4654. The catch was that I had to commit right away. What I expect is the real, best quote up front. Don't treat me like a jerk by baiting with inflated, then reduced prices. Leaf Filter lost my trust at the negotiating table. I won't do business with dishonest people.

"As Advertised"
I am a contractor w/35 yrs experience. I have tried or observed nearly all gutter screens on the market. I usually try them before I sell them. I tried Leaf Filter on my house. The screen is so fine, that indeed, nothing but water can get through. But dirt, debris from shingles, etc., also does not get through. I still had to flush the screens because they clogged with dust and dirt. The gutters did not clog, the screens did.

"Issues with cost estimate"
I contacted Leaf Filter after seeing an ad on national tv. A representative (Alex) showed up and didn't measure the property. He never inspected the gutters like the commercial offered. He wrote a price ($2811) on a piece of paper not breaking down the estimate. I asked him about financing options and he stated "For you $62 a money". He had no calculator with him but pulled that number from the top of his head. Alex had no business cards, but did write his name and phone number on a blank piece of paper. He told me that he would have a written estimate emailed to me by the evening. After a week, I received no estimate nor follow-up phone call. I did receive an unexpected text message from someone identifying themselves as Greg. He wanted to see if he could do anything about the price to have us commit. I told Greg I didn't receive a written estimate and couldn't commit to a dollar amount just written on a blank piece of paper. He sent back a demanding text offering to drop the price to $2405, but we would have to give them cash or a check and decided ASAP. I told Greg we don't do buy anything from a company that has such business practices. I received no further text from anyone. Consequently we received an estimate for brand new gutters with a similar leaf guard system built-in for approximately the $2405 number. Personally I won't waste your time or money on this company.

"Dishonest Business Practices"
Sleezy salesman tried to sell me product. He told me the "average" cost of the job was in the 3-6K range. He then told me mine would be less than that- before the discounts. He told me I could finance the job over a 12 month period, but I he could only pre approve me in person. I told him I was undecided on the job. He assured me I could cancel at any point but pre approval was the way to go. I checked the reviews online and called to cancel within an hour. He assured me the job was cancelled. Later in the evening, I received an email from Wells Fargo with the credit information. I called Leaf Filter today and my job was still scheduled to be installed. I cancelled with Leaf Filter and called Wells Fargo to cancel my card. This is a deceitful company. Do not fall for their tactics. Salesman are scum bags.

"Home Owner"
Poor install. Guards are not supported as well as they should be. Some guards have fallen into the gutters because of no support. They said a rep would stop by on 07/20/2020. Two days now & no one so far.
